Decreto Legislativo (Legislative Decree) n.196/2003
Art. 7 – Right of access to personal data and other rights.
1. The concerned party has the right to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of personal data concerning him/her, even if not yet registered, and its communication in intelligible form.
2. The concerned party has the right to obtain the indication of: a) the source of the personal data;  b) the purposes and methods of handling;  c) the logic applied in case of treatment effected with the aid of electronic instruments;  d) the identity of the holder, the supervisor and the designated representative pursuant to article 5, comma 2;  e) the subjects or categories of subjects to whom the personal data may be communicated or who may come into knowledge of such in their capacity as designated representative in the territory of the State, supervisors or agents.
3. The concerned party has the right to obtain:
a) the updating, rectification or, when requested, integration of data;  b) the deletion, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data treated in violation of law, including that which maintenance is not necessary in relation to the purposes for which the data was collected or subsequently processed; c) certification that the operations as per letters a) and b) have been brought to knowledge, also as far as regards their content, of those to whom the data were communicated or transmitted, unless this requirement proves impossible or involves a means manifestly disproportionate to the protected right. 4.
